2006 (2 Scholarships awarded - 1 from a special fund of member donations) - Julie Wharewera-Mika, DClinPsy, Auckland University. Mental health inpatient services: What are the needs of tangata whaiora Maori and whanau when acutely unwell?
- Casey Rawiri, MSocSc, Waikato University. Adolescent Maori mothers' experiences with social support during pregnancy and birth, and their participation in education.

2005 - Keri A. Thompson, MSocSc, Waikato University. Whanau experiences of a neonatal intensive care unit.

2004 - Kararaaea Te Whata, MA and PGCertEdPsych, Auckland University. The influence of Te Mana Tikitiki (a Maori behavioural intervention programme) on Maori children's ethnic identity, self-esteem and social, family and classroom behaviour.

2003 - Ani Maureec Ngawaka-Nathan, MSocSc & PGDipClinPsych, Waikato University. Hopo amongst Waikato Maniapoto Maori: Putting the detail back into Maori concepts of mental health.

2002 - Kim Marie Southey MSocSc & PGDipCommPsych, Waikato University. The intergenerational perpetuation of achievement messages to Maori males in secondary education

2001 - Arthur J. Grooby of Christchurch; MSc, Canterbury University. How Treaty settlements as an agent of economic change, have influenced the aspirations of New Zealand Maori?

2000 - Carla Houkamau, PhD, Auckland University. Antecedents of Protective and Risk Factors for Sudden Infant Death amongst Maori families. Carla presented a paper on her research at the Society's Annual Conference in August 2001.

1999 - Marewa Glover, PhD, Auckland School of Medicine, inaugural recipient. Maori Smoking Cessation Behaviour
