CONFERENCE 2008
Thank you to all those who attended and enjoyed the NZPsS Conference with us in Christchurch. There were many interesting presenters and lots of friendships made and renewed. If you were not with us this year, we look forward to seeing you in Palmerston North in 2009.

Fellows 2008

It was also our privilege to announce two new Fellows, Brian Dixon and Assoc. Prof Brian Haig and one honorary fellowship to Prof Matt Sanders for their substantial contribution to the advancement of psychological knowledge, practice and research.

The President's Scholarship - Karahipi Tumuaki 2008

The Society is delighted to announce the President's Scholarship - Karahipi Tumuaki recipient Bridgette Masters-Awatere. Bridgette's research interests include using applied research methods towards developing culturally appropriate programme evaluation processes for Maori, specifically within the areas of public health - health promotion programmes.

Student Awards 2008

The Society would also like to take the opportunity to congratulate Petra Hoggarth, winner of the Best Student Conference Paper Award for her research on "Cognitive and sensory-motor performance cannot fully predict unsafe driving in healthy older drivers". The Society and Institute of Clinical Psychology also congratulate Gwenda Willis on receiving the ICP Best Student Conference Paper for her research showing a link between the quality of community reintegration planning and sex offender recidivism.
