VisionThe NZPsS aims to improve individual and community wellbeing by representing, promoting and advancing the scientific discipline of psychology and psychology practice. MissionOur mission is to - Raise the profile of psychology and enhance its standing as a discipline and profession through all sections of New Zealand society
- Ensure that all its policies and practices are responsive to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and to New Zealand's cultural diversity
- Ensure that the New Zealand Psychological Society is a highly valued, proactive and successful professional body that operates to best practice principles
- The Executive will, in consort with members, member groups, standing committees and representatives, take collective responsibility for the success of the Society's mission
The NZPsS - Promotes high standards of ethical and professional practice
- Provides professional support and development to its members
- Promotes and supports biculturalism in the profession
- Represents psychologists to the Government, the public and the media
- Promoting the discipline of psychology as a science
ValuesThe values underpinning all parts of the NZPsS Strategic Plan are those stated in the four Principles on which the Code of Ethics is based, namely - Respect for the dignity of persons and peoples
